Good Morning Beach Students and Staff!  Here are your announcements for Thursday, May 23, 2013.


Ms. Compton's Family Issues Group will meet Friday during B lunch.
Attention all current 8th grade WEB Leaders! Your coordinators would LOVE to take you to Skyzone in Canton on Wednesday, June 5th from 4:30--6:30. Cost is $8. You MUST sign up with Mrs. McCalla before the end of the day Friday. Your parents will need to bring you and sign a release form. We need at least 15 WEB leaders to sign up with Mrs. McCalla in her room by the end of the day Friday in order to have it! 
Remember that all outstanding lunch charges are due by June 1st.  See a cashier at lunch if you have any questions or need to know how much you owe. 
8th graders, be prepared for Moving Up day tomorrow.  Chelsea High School has a “no charge” policy in the cafeteria.  This means you must have money on your account or bring cash with you, or you can bring your own lunch.  You also have to know your account number; they will not look up your name.  The High School also has different lunch pricing than here at Beach.  Remember you start your day at CHS tomorrow morning and walk back to Beach after lunch.
The Chelsea High School Women's Swim Team will have a Pre Season Meeting next Wednesday, May 29
at 6:30pm in the McKune Room at the Chelsea Public Library.  This meeting is for parents & athletes.  Any 8th grade girls interested in being on the High School swim team are invited to attend.

Ms. Compton will be doing NWEA makeup today 5th, 6th and 7th hour in the Media Center.  She will call students down at the end of 4th hour.

Congratulations to Jacob Jacobusse who was the 6th representative to be elected to next year’s Student Council!  Our apologies to Jacob for omitting him from the list yesterday.

There will be a short informational meeting today for all eighth grade boys interested in playing freshmen football next year.  You may attend the meeting at 7:40 before school or immediately after school until 3:25.  We will meet in Mr. S's room, 211.

8th Graders, your Student Council results are here!  Congratulations to all the candidates for your time and effort, you have made Beach Middle School proud!  All candidates need to take their posters and fliers down today.  The class officers for the 13-14 school year are:  Representatives- Kurt Jolly, Zach Lee, Miles Butler, Callum Krause and Ben Kaemming, Treasurer – Meagan O’Hara, Secretary – Kelsey Walz, Vice-President – Nick Beatty, and President – Lee Argir!

Any 8th grade boys interested in playing Water Polo next year are invited to attend an informational meeting tomorrow right after school at the pool.

Good Morning Beach Students and Staff!  Here are your announcements for Friday, May 17, 2013.


6th and 7th grade students, remember your lunch periods swap today.  6th Graders will go to A lunch at the start of 4th hour, 7th grade will have B lunch.

All CURRENT WEB leaders--that's current 8th graders--your last WEB meeting is today, during lunch, in the foods room.  See you there!

Any students interested in the nursing profession are invited to attend EnAct.  This is a free program at the U of M school nursing that involves 2 weeks in-residence on campus, learning about the nursing profession.  Application deadline is May 24.  For more info go to the U of M School of Nursing website.

The Girls’ Track Team defeated Ypsilanti last night 121-22. They did a great job competing against the clock and setting new PR's.  There are too many names to list all our first places, but the girls placed first in all events but two. Bring in $1 for pizza today!

The Boys' Track Team ran to victory last night, defeating Ypsilanti 100-33. There were multiple first place finishes by the boys with Josh Kowalski taking first in the 3200 meter run, Joe Wise winning the 55 and 200 meter hurdles, Jack Pedlow taking the 800 meter run, Liam Heaney rambling to victory in the 1600 meter run, Brady Friss leaping to 1st in the High Jump, Joey Manger flying to first in the Long Jump, and Jordan Smith vaulting over 8 feet for 1st in the pole vault!

Good Morning Beach Students and Staff!  Here are your announcements for Thursday, May 16, 2013.


Please check out the yearbook list in your first hour class. Your name is highlighted if you have already bought a book. IF YOU HAVENT BOUGHT ONE...THERE IS STILL TIME.  Books are $30, ALL color and really great. Don't miss out!

6th and 7th grade students, remember your lunch periods swap tomorrow.  6th Graders will go to A lunch at the start of 4th hour, 7th grade will have B lunch.  This is for Friday only.

8th grade Student Council candidates:  Due to the high number of candidates, speeches tomorrow will be limited in time.  The candidates running as officers will have up to one minute (60 seconds) for their campaign speech and those running for representative will have 30 seconds.

All 8th grade boys interested in playing Water Polo at the High School next year are invited to attend a kickoff and informational meeting on Tuesday, May 21 at 3pm at the pool. 

There will be a STAND meeting today during lunches in the foods room.  All students are welcome to attend.

Members of Jr. C., your dress rehearsal is today.  Be sure you have arranged for transportation to and from the high school.  You need to wear your shirt for rehearsal and bring your items for the dinner.

Good luck to the Track Team today as they host Ypsilanti at home.

Want to watch your Beach teachers and select Beach students square off in the first ever Teacher/Student Olympics? Plan to come to the Beach gym Friday, May 24th after school! More details to come!

8th graders interested in Student Council:
Thursday is the last day to turn in applications in order to speak at assembly Friday morning.  Speeches are optional, but must be less than one minute in length.  Friday is the last day to turn in an application in order for your name to appear on the ballot.  You need approval from Mr. Polley before posting anything.  Posters are only allowed on the north and west side of the Media Center.  5 fliers may be posted anywhere but you may NOT remove anything in order to post your flier.  Please respect Freedom of Speech – do not remove your competitions flier/poster or your name will be omitted from the ballot.
